Band students from both the Moraga School District and Acalanes Union High School District collaborated in the Moraga Area Band Concert on January 9.

The annual event is intended to promote music courses in the respective districts.

Performing 1st, the 5th Grade Band played “Jingle Bells”, demonstrating the early stages of musical skill development. The group had practiced just once a week for 5 weeks preceding the concert.

The Joaquin Moraga Concert Band, which is comprised of 6th-grade musicians, performed the tribal song “African Festival” while the Symphonic Band, comprised of 7th and 8th graders, played the well-known Christmas tune, “Sleigh Ride.”

The Campolindo Symphonic Band, comprised of sophomores, juniors, and seniors provided the penultimate performance.

All of the instrumentalists joined together for the final number, “America, the Beautiful.”
