Last year, with a 4-0 record to open the season, Campolindo lost to Dougherty Valley and their season spiraled to a mediocre 5-5. This year, going into the Dougherty Valley game, the team spirits were different.

Coach Macy said, “There is no nervousness going in to the game. Last year we suffered a lot of pre-season injuries that hindered our team.” Macy also added, “We aren’t worried about being 4-0 right now, we are going like we would in any other game.

The players were ready for the big game last Friday. Junior Zach Remotto said, “The team is a lot more of a brotherhood this year.” Remotto also stated, “Campolindo will definitely win and put up over 30 points.” Watching the game, you could tell the team was different from last year. The team looked sharper on the field, more together as a whole.

Remotto’s predictions came true Friday September 30 when Campolindo put last year’s loss away with a 38-21 win over Dougherty Valley. The game was close until the 4th quarter when Campo pulled away by a few touchdowns.

Campo beat local league rival Acalanes on Thursday October 6th in a game that boosted the Cougars record to 6-0.

The Cougars beat the Dons 42 to 7 and truly demolished them.

Tonight the Cougars take on the Dublin Gaels.
