Senior Alexa Prichard shined at the varsity girls’ golf match against Miramonte on September 26. Prichard earned a career best 42-stroke finish on the 9 hole course.

While the match was against a traditional league opponent, it was not an official league competition.

With the exception of Prichard, assistant coach John Banister was underwhelmed with the performance of his team, as most of the team socred well over 50 strokes.

Banister described Prichard’s performance as “1 of the best rounds of her short golf career.”

Prichard attributed her achievement to her recent focus on her approach shots and putting.

“Going into the rest of the season I feel very confident because I have been working on my short game the most,” said Prichard. “In golf, I feel like that is the main point of focus.”

Junior Ainsley Woodford hopes the rest of the squad will follow Prichard’s lead.  “I think our goal is definitely working on our short game and working on our chipping and putting because that is where we lose a bunch of points,” said Woodford.
