Wright has been dancing since she was 4 years old, and now has passed her love of dance on to young children by teaching ballet and tap at her studio, California Academy of Performing Arts (CAPA). Wright enjoys teaching because she is a role model to the girls. "I want to be the best mentor for them that I can be, I know they are looking up to me," she said.
When she is not teaching others, she is performing in CAPA's version of The Nutcracker. "My most memorable role was last year when I performed as the Rose Queen. It was really special because it was 1 of 3 principle roles."
She also enjoys participating in community service, and was the President of her National Charity League class her junior year. Wright ran monthly meetings and led philanthropy services at various places such as the Contra Costa Food Bank and Underdog Animal Rescue. She has also spent 2 weeks building houses with her church in Tijuana, Mexico.
This is Wright's 2nd year in journalism.
